April Adventures 2013

So this weekend was pretty eventful.  I decided it was time to try out some new stuff with my horses. I now have three horses that will lay down on cue so what better way to show that than to get somepictures of all of them relaxing together?  Well Rascal, my quarter horse, seemed to be really relazed while laying down so I had an idea.  I'd seen Guy McLean sidestep his horse over the other one so why couldn't I give it a shot?  Well Jesse and Rascal were more than willing to work with me too!  Sure enough if you set your mind to something, anything is possible! Just look at these horses! Two of which, less than a year ago were considered untouchable and now one is side-stepping over another horse and all of them lay down like puppy dogs.  A horse is a horse, but it's the quality and time you put into them that really count.  With time and quality you build a relationship with them, a relationship that holds strong and developes into a willing partnership between a horse and a person.  I couldn't have asked for better horses to grow up with!

The begining of the side-step over Rascal.

Rascal got a little nervous.

After a quick sniff of comfort from his pal Jesse, Rascal calmed right back down.

Jesse side-stepping towards me over Rascal.

He and I were both extremely cautious about where we put his feet. He did absolutely fabulous!
